Our Story

Northern Oasis Candles was born from the desire to offer unique products combining self-care, aromatherapy, and crystals.

By using 100% natural soy wax, we offer cleaner burning, vegan-friendly, eco-friendly candles.

Some of our candles feature a mystery crystal to be revealed as the wax melts. The crystals we use are ethically sourced, genuine gemstones.

As we continue to grow, new products are regularly being added to our brand. We will always strive to offer quality, handcrafted products that are filled with love and care.

  • Soy is an all natural, clean-burning wax. It is a healthier option since it does not release the toxins and carcinogens that paraffin wax candles do.

Soy wax is also vegan and eco-friendly. It is made from a renewable source, is biodegradable and is not subject to animal testing.

Soy candles last a lot longer than paraffin candles, and produce approximately 90% less soot.

  • We use high quality fragrance oils to scent our candles. These fragrance oils contain both natural essential oils and synthetic aroma chemicals to provide a beautiful scent throw. All of the fragrance oils used in our candles are phthalate-free

  • Wooden wicks burn differently than cotton wicks, and there are some common issues that can cause the wick to not stay lit.

    1) Keep the wick trimmed short and free from charred edges. You can use a candle trimmer to cut down the wick to about 1/4 of an inch, or pinch of the charred portion of the wick with your fingers before lighting.

    2) When you light your candle for the first time, allow it to burn long enough to create a melt pool that reaches across the entire top of the candle. Wax has a burn memory, and if you don’t allow the wax to melt all the way across the top for the first burn, you could end up with tunneling.

    3) Sometimes wood wicks can “drown” in wax, preventing them from staying lit. Carefully use a napkin or paper towel to soak up some of the excess wax. You may have to repeat this a couple of times until the wick is able to breathe. You can also scoop out some of the harder wax along the edge of the jar.

  • The cotton wicks that we use are lead-free and made using all natural, unbleached material.

  • This is called “blooming” or “frosting” and is a very common characteristic of soy wax. These markings are usually visible on the tops of the candle, but can also appear on the sides of the jars. This is due to the nature of soy wax and is very difficult to avoid. But don’t worry, this is not a flaw and will not have any affect on the quality or burn of the candle.

  • Soy has a lower melting point than paraffin wax and can sometimes release excess fragrance oil. This sometimes happens during shipping due to temperature changes. You can leave it, or wipe it away with a paper towel. This “sweat” from the soy wax will not affect how your candle burns, and usually does not appear again after the first burn.
